So admittedly it has been far, far too long since the last post but now we are back and we're bigger-er, stronger-er and better-er than ever! Exam time is over and now seeing as we have nothing better to do its all go from here on in! A new look for Noise Disturbance will be on the way, the return of past features and we are now on Facebook too. Add ND as a friend for the latest news, updates and to get in touch; as always your ideas and comments are taken on board!
Right then, back to business.
A song that my housemates have been enjoying, to say the least, has been the Leo Zero remix of Florence and The Machine's Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up). Despite it being 8minutes long it moves from being quite a chilled and laid back little tune to a euphoric anthem. Florence's debut album 'Lungs' is out on July 6th and is shaping up to take the charts by storm but will it match the hype? Check out her myspace page here to listen to the remix and preview a few songs from the album.
This week has seen Kasabian's return in the form of 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' which is sitting pretty at the top of the charts. It is an album of two halves with a fast paced and hard hitting opening set with my personal highlight 'Underdog' getting things started (check out the 'official' video below, despite not having an official single release it reached number 32 in the download chart). The second half slows it down with songs such as 'Ladies and Gentlemen' and 'Happiness' showing off the band's range with 'Vlad the Impaler' thrown in to remind you that they haven't lost their bite. It is a welcomed come back from one of the UK's most consistent performers and proves that they deserve their acclaim as a band that have what it be ambassadors for british
rock music.
Finally here is a little gem that I came across during one of my many revision breaks. You might remember in my last post I told you to scout out a band by the name of Magic Magic. Well they happened to do a session for the Flophouse Sessions back in January which is available for you to listen (here) or download (here). Seriously, check it out.
